During my first round of P90X, I followed the accompanying nutrition guide verbatim. At times, however, variety and time were lacking. To get around this, I often modified the P90X Nutrition Guide meals so that I was eating foods that were more simple to make, yet still very healthy.

I should make note that I do have the unfair advantage of my wife being extremely supportive and amazing in the kitchen. Even so, there are times when she is short on ideas or on time. In view of all of this, I incorporated a useful tool on my following round of P90X which helped to streamline my diet dilemma. A Sample Meal Plan for Body Beast – Phase One: BUILD

Below is a screen-capture of my current eating plan from MyFitnessPal outlining my specific 2800 calorie-per-day plan for the ‘BUILD’ stage of the program. If you’re not using MyFitnessPal, I would highly recommend it as a means to track your progress.

The meal below is based on a 2800 calorie-per-day eating plan, with macronutrient targets of 25% Protein, 50% Carbohydrates, and 25% Fat. Keep in mind, this is very program specific. P90X, for example works in phases and incorporates different macronutrient targets for each phase.
