Everyone desires money. Perhaps not for money’s sake, but in this reality, money is the mechanism that allows us the freedom to live a life by our own design and enjoy doing the things we love to do with the people we love. That said, it’s equally important to make money doing something that we love. In terms of fitness coaching, this begs the question: How do you make money with Beachbody?
Let me start by saying that Beachbody is not a ‘get-rich-quick’ scheme that promises ‘stacks of Benjamins’ without any work. We’ve all seen these promises littering the internet: Fast cars, flash clothes and some teenager who’s devised a ‘One quick Tip’ method for living a life beyond our wildest dreams.
As coaches, we’re in this business because we are passionate about health and fitness and we want the freedom of more disposable income. Know this: ‘Coaching’ doesn’t work if we don’t work. This blog post will outline some of Beachbody’s compensation plan basics and help guide you as you navigate your way to financial freedom.
What does it cost to get started?
Let’s ‘start at the start’, as they say. To open the doors of your own fitness company as a Beachbody Coach, it costs you a mere 40 bones. That’s it! Compare this to opening a franchise, which can cost in excess of $100,000!
Included in your $40 investment is your first month of business fees as well as the Beachbody business tools that will be mailed to you to get you on your feet, running. Here’s the cool thing: If you’re already a Beachbody customer and you purchased a Challenge Pack (or you purchase a Challenge Pack at the time you sign up as a coach), Beachbody will reimburse or waive the $40 sign-up fee. Essentially, your start-up costs would then be ‘ZERO’.
In addition to your sign-up ‘fee’, there is a monthly service fee of $15.95 USD that covers all the parts of business you’d rather not be concerned with. Order processing, shipping, returns, bookkeeping paperwork — this is all taken care of with your monthly fee. PLUS, that monthly cost also covers you own personal websites for directing your clients to as well as every bit of training you would ever need to become a top-earning Beachbody coach.
Make Money with Beachbody Right Away:
So, here’s how the commission structure works: Coaches earn 25% on commissions on any products that we sell. For example, selling a bag of Shakeology for $120 would earn you $30. Where this can really begin to add up is on the monthly auto-ship orders of Shakeology, giving you residual income each and every month. The benefit to our customers is that they save on shipping by ordering on ‘Home Direct’ (Auto Ship), and there is no risk or fees to cancel or pause their order. Win/Win.
Additionally, the 25% commission is also included on anything a coach sells from their Beachbody website. On that note, our monthly fee includes the cost of hosting and developing our personal websites, which is a great deal, in and of itself. Check out any hosting provider out there and you’re likely paying $100+ annually and that doesn’t include domain name or website development. $15.95 to operate your own business with all marketing, advertising, order processing and training taken care of… that’s a pretty sweet deal in my books.
The Bigger Picture: Building Your Team
Where the Beachbody Coaching program can really compound is through building your own TEAM. Once you’ve made developed some relationships, created amazing transformation stories and have watched your natural ‘leaders’ emerge in your groups, those people will want to do what you’re doing. Success fuels success! Remember when I mentioned that Beachbody is a relationship-based business, first and foremost? As you build others up, they will want to ‘pay it forward’ and help their family, friends and beyond achieve the same results!
Those clients often become your team members (coaches), and you earn a portion of what they earn. They benefit from your expertise in the business, and eventually your team members will start their own teams, creating a hierarchy of profit that can yield large dividends. The more you share and teach others to do what you do, the more you can benefit them. Lifting others up, in turn, lifts us up! Again, Win/Win.
It Takes Work (like anything that’s worth anything).
As mentioned at the start of this post, Beachbody Coaching is not a ‘throw up your feed and watch the money roll in’ plan. Like anything (such as our own fitness), we have to invest time and energy to get results, and the amount that we make depends on how hard we work. This is especially true when a coach is just starting out. The great thing is, our start-up costs are nominal, so it is very easy to recover out-of-pocket costs and start earning a profit. Compare this to any ‘bricks-and-mortar’ business that requires massive investments of capital and a high amount of risk.
Lastly, building a business involves earning the trust of your clients, and that takes time and sincerity! Be genuine in your approach, consistent with your message, and invest your time into your customers. Do that, and you have a solid recipe for success.
